Whole Meal Tea Loaf

For this scrumptious whole meal tea loaf bread recipe, you will need:

One pound of strong whole meal flour
8 ounces of mixed dried fruit
Tea
Fresh yeast
Sugar
Melted butter
Warm milk
Salt
Mixed spice

1. Place your 8 ounces of dried fruit in a bowl. Cover the fruit with ½ pint of tea and let this sit in overnight.
2. Place 1/4 pint of milk in a saucepan on the stovetop over medium heat and let the milk get warm. Remove from the burner and pour into a medium bowl. Dissolve 2 ounces of sugar and 1 ounce of fresh yeast into the 1/4 pint of warm milk. Let this sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the pound of strong wholemeal flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of mixed spice. Add 1 ounce of fresh yeast and 8 ounces of the mixed dried fruits. Melt 2 ounces of butter, and then add that to the mixture. Mix well to bring the dough together.
4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, adding a little water if necessary. Over the dough and allow it to rise for 1 1/2 hours.
5. Grease a baking tin. Knead the dough again then shape it to fit into the baking tin.
6. Place the dough in the tin and allow it to sit for another 25 minutes.
7. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place the bread in the oven and let it cook for 35 minutes.
